FACTORY KEYWORK: If time allows, we at DOOR LOCKS PLUS, recommend factory keying to reduce your costs. Factory lead times are varied and can be estimated at the time of your order, subject to extension due to factors beyond our control.
We will be glad to assist you with your requirements and offer a preprinted keying specifications worksheet for a charge of $40.00.
Keying instructions must be provided before special order locks will be ordered from the manufacturer.
Special in-house or factory keying orders are non-cancellable and non-returnable. To avoid confusion, and additional rekeying charges, any key jobs for over 20 locks require written confirmed keying instructions.
For locksets less components (latchbolts or strikes) we deduct from the selling price of the lock 20% of the list price of the component being omitted.
HandlingHAND OF DOORKNOB IS ALWAYS DETERMINED FROM THE OUTSIDE
Here are a few rules to follow:
- The outside of an exterior door is the street or entrance side.
- The outside of a room door is the hall side.
- The outside of a single communicating door is the side from which the hinges are not visible when the door is closed.
- The outside of a closet door is the room or hall side.
We suggest door knobs that have exposed screws be installed so the screws are visible from the inside of door. The rose conceals the screws on some styles of door knobs.
Note: Many door knobs and levers are now reversible and handing of the door knob is not necessary.
